Lisa Killion, DA., Surgical Dental Assistant / Implant Treatment Coordinator

I have been an Oral Surgery dental assistant since the day after my graduation in 1983, and I am still working at my same place of employment. As the years have flown by, I have gained new job descriptions and now hold myself accountable for a large amount of responsibilities. Dr. Lugakingira possess qualities that I aspire to have. I have watched him treat his patients with the utmost respect and professionalism, and I feel very lucky to be a part of the staff. Along with my surgical dental assisting responsibilities, I am also the implant treatment coordinator, assist Dr. Lugakingira with Orthognathic Surgery work ups, and I have operating room privileges to join Dr. Lugakingira in his hospital cases. Holly Bortner, CDA, DAANCE Certified, Surgical Dental Assistant

I have worked for Fort Wayne Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Implant Center since 2010. I studied Dental Assisting at IPFW and received my CDA in 2010. I continued my education and became DAANCE (Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certifcation Examination) certified.

When patients come to an oral surgeon, it is not uncommon for them to be very apprehensive. I help comfort them, educate them about their procedre(s), and make them feel welcome and significant. I can say that all of us here at Fort Wayne Oral Surgery strive to make each patient feel like family; feel like they are not just a "number" to us because each patient does matter. This is just one reason why I really enjoy working with the entire staff at Fort Wayne Oral Surgery & Implant Center. On top of being kind, Dr. Luga is a perfectionist, very precise and expects the same from his staff.

While the entire staff is a team, each helping one another, I am directly involved and responsible in updating our medical records and website, aid in Dr. Lugakinira's presentations and lectures, and assist in planning for our CT-Guided implants. In addition to being a surgical denal assistant in the clinic, I also am dual trained to help the front staff with scheduling, patient registration and check out.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and baking.

Alma Gabriela Angel, ST., Surgical Technician

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to work helping people feel better. And we do exactly that. For that reason, I am so grateful I have that opportunity everyday working in Oral Surgery with Dr. Lugakingira. I am one of the dental surgical assistants and have a background in surgery, having graduated from the Surgical Technology Program at Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan in 2000. Soon after graduation, I chose to specialize in oral surgery because I felt that I had the chance to really have personal contact with patients, which complemented well my previous hospital experience. Working with “Dr. Luga”, as we call him affectionately here, always motivates me to strive for the utmost in our patient care and be most up to date on oral surgery advances in technology to give our patients the highest quality of care. On a personal note, I am married and have a young son. When I do have spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, listening to music, staying active with Zumba, and watching movies.
